The University College of Science, Saifabad, a Constituent College of Osmania University, is situated at Masabtank in Hyderabad. It was established in 1951 in the prime locality at the foot hills of Banjara Hills. Originally the college offered only intermediate courses and was situated at Gulbarga of erstwhile Nizam state. Subsequently it was shifted to the present location.

Established in 1947, the same year that India gained its independence, University Post-Graduate College Secunderabad, a constituent college of Osmania University is considered to be one of the best co-educational institutions of higher learning in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Initially it was known as "Arts & Science College, Secunderabad" .

The Post Graduate College of Law has a Glorious History of more than 115 years. The Faculty of Law started classes in 1899 by Legal Department during Nizam period, in Hyderabad State. Thus teaching Law was in existence even before Osmania University which came into existence in 1919. In 1923 Law Department was constituted at premises of Arts College in O.U. The University made a successful experiment of teaching Law, in a vernacular language namely Urdu. At that time Urdu was court language.
